2013 USATF National Podium Education Project

What is it: The Podium Education Project (PEP) is an annual High Performance Coaches Symposium which brings elite coaches and sport scientists together to review and present the most cutting edge methodology and coaching practices in the world. It is designed to provide an exchange of knowledge between scientists, elite coaches and podium level coaches who have achieved the status of developing a medal-winning athlete at the World Championships or Olympic level.
2013 Program: The 2013 program will focus on bringing the latest information to coaches for maximizing performance in the Olympic arena. The schedule includes anecdotal presentations from Olympic gold medalists and successful podium coaches and will explore the interdisciplinary approach that every coach must implement in the training regimen. Dr. Don Greene, sport psychologist, explains how track coaches are working with the greatest divas in the world of performance. Mac Wilkins, Gold Medalist and USATF high performance throws coach will give his insight on producing in the Olympic discus circle. Joel Skinner, Canadian coach of Derek Drouin, high jump Olympic medalist, will lend emphasis to the long term coach-athlete relationship from youth to an elite. Dr. Matt Lydum, offers research based ramifications of a long term athlete development plan for the talented youth athlete. In addition there will be a world class coaches panel including top collegiate coaches, Beth Alford-Sullivan and Mike Holloway, 2013 World Championships Head Coaches. This year’s event will be full of new and exciting information that you will not want to miss.
Who can Attend: The conference is open to current USATF members (Join online today!).
When: The 2013 PEP will take place on Wednesday, December 4th, from 8:00am - 6:00pm in Indianapolis, Indiana. The PEP will precede the USATF Annual Meeting.
Where: The conference will be held at the JW Marriott. This is also the headquarter hotel for the USATF Annual Meeting. Registrants can make reservations through the USATF online booking page and receive a special USATF rate. Rooms are limited, and reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration: Registration for the PEP is $65. Coaches who are members of the coaches registry, will receive a dicount code, e-mailed to them by October 15, to register for $15. If you have questions about the coupon code, e-mail Terry Crawford. The free entry code must be used at the time of registration.
Registration is open on a first-come first-serve basis until November 15, 2013 or until the PEP has reached max capacity. The registration page is set up so members can register for the Annual Meeting, Youth Workshop and PEP in the same regsitration process.
