STATEN ISLAND, New York -- More than 2,000 young athletes ages 8-18 will descend upon the brand new, state of the art Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, March 11-13 to compete for national titles at the three-day USATF Hershey Youth Indoor Championships.
Pan American Games record holder and gold medalist Ashley Higginson
(Colts Neck, New Jersey), also a World Championships participant, will make a special appearance Saturday, March 12 to start races, award medals, pose for photos and sign autographs with competitors.
The Friday schedule kicks off on the track with the 55 meters at 3:30 p.m., followed by 400m and 3,000m races. Friday field events open with the long jump and high jump at 5 p.m. before progressing into shot put.
Athletes who finish among the top 6 in each age group throughout the weekend will receive medals, and athletes ages 15-18, who are first place finishers receive championship rings. All competitors receive Nike backpacks.

Thursday, March 10: 5:30-8 p.m.
Friday, March 11: 1-8 p.m.
Saturday, March 12: 7:30-2 p.m.
Sunday, March 13: 7:30-1 p.m.
*Note: Admission for the USATF Hershey Youth Indoor Nationals Championships will be $8.00 per day. Discounted three-day pass are $20.00. Preschool-age children and senior citizens age 62 and older will be admitted for free. Only those coaches who are listed on the 2016 USATF background-check list will be granted credentials and free admission.
