White’s sprint double wins her USATF Athlete of the Week


Kayla White (Miami, Florida) ran a world-leading time in the 100m to earn USATF Athlete of the Week.

White, a senior at North Carolina A&T, zipped to a 10.96 in the 100m to win the MEAC title at Greensboro, moving to equal fifth on the all-time collegiate list. The 2019 NCAA indoor 200m champion added a U.S.-leading 22.52 win in the 200m and ran on the Aggies’ 43.45 gold medal 4x100m relay squad to help A&T win the team title.

Trevor Stewart — Stewart, a junior at North Carolina A&T, moved to No. 9 on the all-time U.S. collegian list in the 400m with his 44.38 at the MEAC Championships.

Leonard Korir — Korir won his second USATF Half Marathon title with a 61:52 at Pittsburgh.

Stephanie Bruce — Bruce won her second national title with a lifetime-best 70:43 at the USATF Half Marathon Championships.

Hillary Bor — Bor moved to No. 3 on the all-time U.S. men’s 3,000m steeplechase list with his 8:08.41 at the Doha Diamond League meet, where he finished second.

Dalilah Muhammad — Muhammad, the reigning Olympic champion, won the women’s 400m hurdles at the Doha DL meet with a world-leading 53.61.

Now in its 18th year, USATF’s Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on Selections are based on top performances and results from the previous week.
