— Indian Hills CC freshman Kenny Bednarek ran a world-leading 20.30 for 200m at the Nebraska Sevigne Invitational. The time ranks him =8th on the all-time U.S. indoor list.

— Also at the Sevigne Invitational, Stanford’s Harrison Williams notched a U.S.-leading heptathlon score of 5,961 points, and 2017 Pan Am Junior discus champion Laulauga Tausaga of Iowa moved to No. 10 on the collegiate all-time women’s 20-pound weight throw list with her 23.26m/76-3.75 toss.

— Last year’s USATF Championships fifth-placer Shelby McEwen of Alabama cleared a U.S.-leading 2.31m/7-7 to win the high jump at the Carolina Challenge in Columbia.

— Rutgers sophomore Taj Burgess clocked 1:01.34 for 500m at the Mets Indoor Championships at Ocean Breeze, the fastest time in the world this year.



Ajee’ Wilson and Clayton Murphy turned in a pair of “flat track” world bests in the 800m at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem. Wilson’s 1:59.26 is a world-leading time for 2019, while Murphy’s 1:45.92 PR won by almost three seconds.

— Reigning world champion Sam Kendricks briefly held the world lead in the men’s pole vault on Feb. 1 with his 5.86m/19-2.75 win at the ISTAF meet in Berlin.
