Sydney McLaughlin breaks 300m hurdles national high school record in outdoor season debut

LOS ANGELES -- High school senior and 2016 Olympian Sydney McLaughlin (Dunellen, New Jersey) made an epic first attempt at the 300m hurdles at the Arcadia Invitational, breaking the previous record in 38.90. The University of Kentucky recruit broke the 2001 record by more than one second.  

During the 2017 indoor season, McLaughlin set new national records in the 300m, 400m hurdles and was part of the world record-breaking women’s distance medley relay.

Sam Chelanga makes late surge to win UAE Healthy Kidney 10K

NEW YORK CITY -- Sam Chelanga (Tuscon, Arizona), the only American entered in the men’s race, won his debut UAE Healthy Kidney 10K in 28:21. Chelanga beat second-place finisher Thomas Longosiwa by just 0.64 seconds, becoming the third American male to ever win the 13th annual race.

Ashley Spencer runs fastest 400m hurdles this year at Grenada Invitational  

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada -- 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Ashley Spencer (Indianapolis, Indiana) ran the fastest 400m hurdles time this year at the inaugural Grenada Invitational at the National Athletic Stadium in Queen’s Park.

Spencer ran a world-leading 54.78 as the lone American in the event, beating Jamaica’s Leah Nugent by .10. Click here for full meet results.
