V Bozeman to perform at USATF Black Tie & Sneakers Gala; D-Nice to spin at After Party

INDIANAPOLIS — Two prominent entertainers will add excitement to USATF’s 2017 Black Tie & Sneakers Gala on November 2 in New York City. Featured in the award-winning television show “Empire,” singer/songwriter V Bozeman will perform at the showcase USATF event, while D-Nice will handle DJ duties at the Gala’s After Party.

Bozeman and D-Nice join all-time Olympic great Carl Lewis on a growing list of headline athletes, artists and celebrities to be part of the Gala.

Bozeman is a vocalist, arranger, song-writer and producer from South Central Los Angeles who has collaborated with Grammy Award-winners CeeLo Green, Babyface and Timbaland, among many others. Her performance of “What is Love?” in the premiere episode of “Empire” helped catapult her career, with the video for the song garnering more than 40 million views on YouTube.

Most recently appearing in the recently released film “Girls Trip,” D-Nice has established himself as a premier DJ, spinning at events including the Inaugural Ball for President Obama’s second term, the Oscars, and the Super Bowl. Born in the Bronx, he helped launched the career of Kid Rock.

“The Black Tie & Sneakers Gala is all about celebrating the best that our sport has to offer, on a stage that brings together athletes, executives and pop culture leaders,” USATF CEO Max Siegel said. “Having accomplished performers like V Bozeman and D-Nice at the Gala to perform and be an integral part of the evening will make the event even more special.”

Now in its third year, USATF’s Black Tie & Sneakers Gala is a red-carpet evening held at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York City’s Washington Heights neighborhood. The Gala includes the induction of the National Track & Field Hall of Fame Class of 2017, with legendary athletes, business executives, current USATF stars and celebrities from sports and entertainment on hand for an opening reception, dinner, the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and after party. Guests walk the red carpet in black ties and sneakers, giving the night a USATF twist on athletic elegance and excellence.
