INDIANAPOLIS — Eight events remain for unprecedented live indoor track and field and cross country coverage on USATF.tv
, USA Track & Field announced Thursday.
Launching the domestic indoor season, USATF.tv will have live coverage of the New Balance Games this Saturday, January 25th from 1pm - 4pm ET. Showcasing Olympians and top American stars, the two-day event is hosted at the New York City Armory.
Olympic finalist Duane Solomon will race against the 600-meter American Record holder Erik Sowinski in a Millrose Games rematch from a year ago. In 2013, Sowinski edged Solomon, clocking 1:15.61, the fastest time ever run by an American. Solomon's eyes are set on a new record this year, one that he hopes to achieve on Saturday.
Also taking center stage will be Olympic silver medalist Will Claye and 2012 Olympian Morgan Uceny. On Saturday, Claye will compete in the men's triple jump, while Uceny will toe the line in the women's mile against a field that features Nicole Bush and Sarah Brown to name a few. Olympians Charonda Williams and Manteo Mitchell will compete in their respective 300m events.
Ajee’ Wilson, a New Jersey native who was a finalist at the 2013 IAAF World Championships in the 800 meters, returns to her home track for the 600 meters.
Thousand of prep stars are featured in the two-day event with the elites taking center stage on Saturday afternoon.
The USATF.tv indoor schedule stays in the Northeast with the Armory Collegiate Invitational webcast Feb. 8 (1pm - 3:30pm ET), leading into bonus coverage of the first stop in the USATF Championships Series the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix (3:30pm - 4:30pm ET). Coverage of the NBIGP will include heats of the men's and women's 60 meters, boy's and girl's junior mile, and a stacked men's 3000 meters featuring World Junior record holder Hagos Gebrhiwet from Ethiopia.
Bonus coverage of the NYRR Millrose Games is offered on Feb 15 from 5:00pm - 6:30pm ET. Also on February 15, USATF.tv will broadcast the USA Cross Country Championships from Boulder, Colo. USA Indoors follows, then USA Youth Indoors from Landover, Md. The Indoor season culminates with the New Balance Indoor Championships in New York on March 16.
