Adding to the excitement in Eugene, Oregon, this week, USATF presented a Run Jump Throw experience Saturday as one of the festivities surrounding the Run TrackTown weekend.
Run Jump Throw provided young athletes with an exciting opportunity to compete on the same historic track & field facility used by many professionals, Olympians, and world record holders. Participants received instruction from not only Team USA athletes competing at World Juniors but also from elite, professionals and legendary track & field stars.
Event techniques and instruction focussed on the long jump, turbo javelin, softball throw, and 100m run with kids ages six and under participating during the first hour, and ages 7-12 participating for a two-hour period from 10 a.m. - Noon.

About Run Jump Throw
Running, jumping and throwing is the foundation of an active life.
USA Track & Field and Hershey teamed up to create Run Jump Throw (RJT), a hands-on learning program that gets kids excited about physical activity by introducing them to the basic running, jumping and throwing skills through track and field.
RJT offers a selection of twenty learning stations for organizers to choose from, including dynamic warm-up, running form and technique, standing broad jump, softball throw and one-legged hop. The program culminates with a non-competitive track meet where kids can apply new skills and celebrate their achievements.
