ANAHEIM -- USA Track & Field hosted a RUNJUMPTHROW experience at Orange Grove Elementary School in Anaheim, California, Dec. 3, as 20 elite athletes volunteered their time visiting classrooms and preparing 225 children for an afternoon of running, jumping and throwing through a variety of introductory skill stations.

"The kids at Orange Grove Elementary had a great time with RunJumpThrow and our Team USA athletes," said Talia Mark, associate director of commuity programs for USATF. "The interaction between the athletes is very inspiring and will hopefully create lifelong memories for both groups."
Athletes led students in a dynamic warm-up before kids branched out into eight stations ranging from balancing and quick-feet to jumping and various slide shuffles.
"Community events like RunJumpThrow," said Mark, "continue to serve our overall purpose of building lifelong connections to the sport."
USATF and Hershey teamed up to create RunJumpThrow, a hands-on learning program that gets kids excited about physical activity by introducing them to the basic running, jumping and throwing skills through track and field. The RJT plan offers a selection of learning stations for organizers to choose from, including dynamic warm-up, running form and technique, standing broad jump, softball throw and one-legged hop.
