IAAF ratifies Trey Cunningham’s 60m hurdles World U20 indoor record

18-year-old Trey Cunningham’s 7.40 performance in the men’s 60m hurdles at New Balance Nationals earlier this year was ratified as a World U20 indoor record, the IAAF announced Thursday. Cunningham’s time improved on the 2006 record of 7.50 set by Greece’s Konstandinos Douvalidis and matched in 2014 by Great Britain’s David Omoregie.

USATF 50 Mile Trail Champs to take place on June 3 in Ithaca, New York

The USATF 50 Mile Trail Championships will take place this Saturday, June 3 in Ithaca, New York, athletes will toe the line with an opportunity to qualify for the U.S. team competing at 2018 IAU World Trail Championships in Penyagolosa, Spain next May.

 

Saturday’s event will be held in conjunction with the Cayuga Trails 50, which marks the course’s fourth consecutive year and 16th overall as the USATF 50 Mile Championships host.  Neither the 2016 winner, Tyler Sigl (course record 6:44), nor the top female from last year’s race, Corrine Malcolm (8:18), will not be returning to defend their titles.

 

In addition to the top 10 men and women receiving USATF medals, the top three in each masters age category for men and women will also be recognized, starting at 40-44 in five-year increments. The prize purse is $7,000 distributed equally between men and women with the breakdown of $1,500 for first, $1,000 for second and $500 for third. The top masters male and female will each earn $500.
