Gorman named USATF Associate Director of Championships and Programs

INDIANAPOLIS — Long-time coach, contributor and technical expert Ed Gorman has joined USATF’s National Office as Associate Director of Championships and Programs, USATF announced. His responsibilities include overseeing the technical aspects of bid documents and serving as Technical Manager at USATF national track & field championships. He will be the officials’ liaison and collect and maintain all high performance data, statistics, marks and verifications, serving as a resource on national championships and venues.


Gorman’s 30 years of coaching experience includes stints at club, high school and collegiate levels, serving as an assistant at Manhattan College, Arizona State and The Ohio State University. He has worked for nearly two decades as a consultant for design, layout and construction in excess of 48 facilities.


Gorman has served USATF as a volunteer for decades, as vice chair and then chairman of the Men’s Track & Field Committee, as a member of the USATF Rules Committee, and as Championships Meet Equipment Technician on the international stage for the IAAF World Championships to the Olympic Games. He was co-meet director at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials.


Christopher Quetant named USATF Manager, Anti-Doping

Christopher Quetant will assume the role of USATF Manager, Anti-Doping, on April 2, 2018. He will serve as the point of contact and manager for athlete anti-doping matters, including whereabouts forms, notifications and testing protocol.


Quetant has been with USATF since October 2015, when he was named Sanctions Program Coordinator. Prior to USATF, he worked as an Operations Coordinator at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center, where he managed logistics for athletes and coaches residing at the training center. He previously worked with the U.S. Olympic Committee as part of its delegation to the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada, and as an intern in the USOC Sports Medicine Clinic. He was an intercollegiate track & field athlete at Springfield College, where he earned his sport management degree in 2011.
