Three-time Olympian John Nunn elected to be at-large officer of USOC Athletes’ Advisory Council

INDIANAPOLIS -- Three-time Olympian in the race walk, John Nunn (San Diego, California), will represent track and field’s interests on a national level as one of six elected at-large officers leading the United States Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Advisory Council, through 2020.

Per the USOC, the AAC is “responsible for broadening communication between the USOC and active athletes, and serves as a source of input and advice to the USOC board of directors.” The council is also comprised of athletes from each National Governing Body, including Paralympic sport organizations. The six-member leadership team includes a chairman and two vice chairmen.

Nunn was previously elected as USATF’s alternate to the council in 2012 and won the sport’s representative role in 2016. Additionally last year, he was elected as chair of USATF Race Walk Committee at Annual Meeting.

Nunn competed in the 50K race walk at the 2004, 2012 and 2016 Olympics. He currently trains in San Diego, California where he also operates a gourmet cookie business.
