EDMONTON -- In the final morning session of the Pan American Junior Championships at Foote Field, Anthony Peters finished just outside the podium in the 10,000-meter race walk, heptathlete Ashtin Zamzow moved into first place overall with one event remaining and 400-meter hurdler Anna Cockrell ran the fastest qualifying time of the day.

Anthony Peters (Davenport, Iowa) put in a strong effort for fourth-place finish in the men’s 10,000-meter race walk in 44:48.17, where his final split of 1:42.195 was the fastest in the field. Cameron Haught (Hickory, North Carolina) was sixth, crossing the line in 48:18.55.

Heptathlete Zamzow (Goliad, Texas) began Day 2 in second place, and despite finishing sixth in the long jump (5.27m/17-3.5), she ended the morning session on a high note, moving up to first place overall to lead by 140 points after throwing 46.15m/151-5 in the javelin.
