Sights and sounds ahead of 2018 USATF Outdoor Championships


The country’s premier outdoor track & field championship of 2018 will feature Olympians and world champions vying for national titles at the USATF Outdoor Championships, June 21-24. The meet is set to take place in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake Stadium located at Drake University.

The USATF Outdoor Championships are part of the 2018 Team USA Summer Champions Series presented by Xfinity. The series showcases numerous Olympic sports throughout the season, highlighting the year-round quest of Team USA athletes to compete at the Olympic Games.

Friday, June 20

8:30 - 11:00 a.m. at Drake Stadium

Participating children will be taught the basics of running, jumping and throwing by USATF Alumni such as 1968 Olympic gold medalist Madeline Manning Mims and two-time silver medalist Terrence Trammell. Contact for more information about this event.

1968-2018: Celebrating Athletic Achievement and Courage

USATF is continuing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1968 U.S. Olympic Team at Outdoor Championships. Madeline Manning Mims, 1968 Olympian and the only American woman to win gold in the 800m, will be onsite participating in RunJumpThrow, autograph signings and more.
