Action continues into Friday night with the women’s 1500m showdown between 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and four-time Drake Relays champion Jenny Simpson, last year’s runner up and fellow Rio teammate Kate Grace, New Zealand’s Nikki Hamblin, and more. Team USA’s Brenda Martinez and Iowa-native Shelby Houlihan will also certainly be forces to behold in the women’s final.

In the men’s 400m, LaShawn Merritt -- 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and last year’s second-place finisher -- will go against Grenada’s Olympic silver medalist and 2016 Drake Relays champion Kirani James. Merritt’s Olympic gold medal-winning teammates in the men’s 4x400m relay Tony McQuay and David Verburg will also challenge in the quarter-mile, along with Dontavious Wright, Paul Dedewo, Vernon Norwood and Trinidad & Tobago’s Rennie Quow.

Saturday’s 100m hurdles stacked lineup includes two-thirds of the American sweep at the Olympics, silver medalist Nia Ali and bronze medalist Kristi Castlin, as well as current world record holder in the event Keni Harrison. Harrison is also the defending champion at Drake Relays.
