World Relays Women’s 4x4 Named USOC Team of the Month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The U.S. women's 4x400-meter relay team of Dee Dee Trotter (Cedar Grove, Georgia), Sanya Richards-Ross (Austin, Texas), Natasha Hastings (Brooklyn, New York) and Joanna Atkins (Stone Mountain, Georgia) clinched first place with a time of 3:21.69 at the inaugural IAAF World Relays, held May 25 in Nassau, Bahamas. The relay team played a large part in Team USA’s golden baton victory, which is awarded to the best overall team.


Gatlin’s Undefeated Streak Continues in Rome as Bowie Wows Once Again

ROME, Italy - Justin Gatlin continued his winning ways, capturing the men’s 100 meters at the Rome - Golden Gala, the first European stop in the 2014 Diamond League. Gatlin cruised to a 9.91 finish, the only man to run sub-10.


11 U.S. athletes turned in top-three finishes at the meet, including victories by LaShawn Merritt in the men’s 400 meters (44.48), Will Claye in the men’s triple jump (17.14m/56-2.75), and Tori Bowie, who stunned once again with a personal best in her second straight Diamond League meeting. Bowie, who wowed the crowd in Eugene at the Nike Prefontaine Classic with a world-leading 22.18 out of lane 1 in a stacked women’s 200m field, took home the women’s 100m title in Rome with a PR of 11.05.


American Track League Rolls into Houston

HOUSTON, Texas - The fifth American Track League tour stop is Friday night at Rice University’s Holloway Field in Houston, Texas. Many Olympic heroes will be on hand for the competition which allows fans to get up close and personal with the competitors.


Texas natives and local stars will be on hand as well, including Olympic silver medalist Brigetta Barrett who hails from Duncanville, TX. U.S. Champion Sprinter and 2012 Bowerman winner, Kimberlyn Duncan, from Katy, Texas, will be running in an exciting women’s 200m race.


The men’s 200m race is guaranteed to be a race to the finish featuring 3-time Olympian and former Baylor athlete, Jeremy Wariner and Olympian Wallace Spearmon.


Three-time Olympic medalist DeeDee Trotter will be racing in her signature glitter face paint in the women’s 400m, hoping to claim her 3rd ATL win.


Mark Jelks is currently the three-time reigning champion in the men’s 100m on the American Track League circuit and is looking to remain undefeated and add win number 4. He will be pressured by a field which includes four sub-10 second men.
