Team USA Prepares for Sainsbury’s Glasgow International Match
GLASGOW -- Team USA sent a delegation of 22 athletes for the Sainsbury’s Glasgow International Match, taking place Saturday, Jan. 25 beginning at 8 a.m. ET. The broadcast will stream live on the BBC in Britain only and Emirates Arena is completely sold out for the event.
Among the competitors for Team USA are team captain Bernard Lagat, two-time Olympic medalist and 10-time World medalist, who will participate in the 3,000m. Olympic silver medalist in the men’s high jump Erik Kynard will also don the red, white and blue in Glasgow and you can read his recent #AskUSATF to see what he’s been up to after a successful 2013 campaign.
Also competing for the U.S. men is Richard Browne, the 2012 London Paralympic Games and 2013 IPC World Championships 100m silver medalist as well as the world record holder in the 60 and 100m for the single leg amputee class (T-44).
On the women’s side, the first event for the Americans will be Mary Saxer in the women’s pole vault at 8:20 a.m. ET. Olympic champion and seven-time World medalist Natasha Hastings will compete in the 150m for the U.S. women, while Olympian Funmi Jimoh will finish things off in the field events with the women’s long jump.

Defending Champion Chris Derrick added to USA Cross Country Championships field
BOULDER -- Defending champion Chris Derrick has entered the Open Men's 12 km at the 2014 USA Cross Country Championships slated in Boulder, Colo., Feb. 15, USA Track & Field has announced today.
Derrick (Naperville, Ill.), a recent Stanford graduate, is no stranger to success. In addition to his 2013 USA Cross Country title, he qualified for the IAAF World Track & Field Championships in Moscow, Russia in the 10,000m. He also helped lead Team USA to a silver medal at the 2013 IAAF World Cross Country Championships with a top-10 finish, and he most recently captured an individual victory for Team USA at the BUPA Great Edinburgh Cross Country race in Scotland.
As a prep star, he won the individual title at Nike Cross Nationals and followed that up with a runner up finish at the Foot Locker High School Cross Country Championships. He then took this talents to The Farm and Stanford University where he was a 13-time All American, earning four honors in Cross Country and a combined nine in Indoor and Outdoor Track. He also qualified for the 2009 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where he placed 15th in the Junior Men's Race.
Derrick entered his post-collegiate career, signed with Nike and began training under Jerry Schumacher in Portland, Ore.

Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs Inducted into New Jersey Hall of Fame
NEWARK -- Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs joined Whitney Houston and her cousin, singer Dionne Warwick, among the newest members of New Jersey’s Hall of Fame. The 2013 inductees were honored during a ceremony at the Newark Museum in early January.
The late singer Celia Cruz, former Gov. Tom Kean, President Grover Cleveland, comedian Joe Piscopo, Common Sense author Thomas Paine, filmmaker Alice Guy Blache, businessman Raymond G. Chambers, NBC and RCA founder David Sarnoff, boxer “Jersey Joe” Walcott, sculptor J. Seward Johnson Jr., and makeup expert Bobbi Brown were also inducted.
