Updated list of athletes eligible for .US National Road Racing Championships announced
Following Sunday’s USA Women’s 10-Mile Championships, which were hosted by the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile in Washington D.C., and won by Janet Bawcom in a single-sex American record time of 53:28, a new list of runners became eligible to compete at the .US National Road Racing Championships this fall.

To qualify for the .US National Road Racing Championships, which is USATF’s first wholly owned and operated 12-kilometer (12 km) event to cap the USA Running Circuit (USARC), runners must finish in the top ten at any of the USARC events. $100,000 in prize money will be awarded, with $20,000 going to the men’s and women’s champions of the .US National Road Racing Championships.

Below is a list of the athletes currently eligible to compete at the season-ending event.

Hansons-Brooks Distance Project, Reid, White pick-up USATF National Club 8 km titles
Hansons-Brooks Distance Project swept the men’s and women’s team titles while Phillip Reid and Melissa White grabbed the individual men’s and women’s championships, respectively, at the USATF National Club 8 km Championships in Grant Park in Chicago, Ill., Sunday.

Reid, running for the Asics Aggie Running Club, finished ahead of Jacob Riley (Hansons-Brooks) in a tight finish. Reid’s winning time was 23:08 to Riley’s 23:10.

White was part of a 1-2 sweep by Hansons-Brooks in the women’s race along with runner-up finisher Dot McMahan. White won the race in a time of 26:33 and McMahan finished in 26:39.

On the men’s side, Hansons-Brooks (23:27) pulled out the narrow team win ahead of the Asics Running Club (23:28) and Adidas/TeamRogue (23:42). On the women’s side, Hansons-Brooks won in a time of 27:00 followed by Cleveland Elite Development (27:13) and Adidas/TeamRogue (27:28).

Joe Moore (Twin Cities Track Club) placed third in the men’s race in a time of 23:14 while Jessica Odoric (Cleveland Elite Development) placed third in the women’s race in 26:42.
