Team USA Named for IAAF World Half Marathon Championships
USA Track & Field has named ten team members for the 21st IAAF World Half Marathon Championships on October 6 in Kvarna, Bulgaria.

Maegan Krifchin (Dewitt, N.Y.) - 2012 USA Half Marathon Championships runner-up
Michelle Frey (Minneapolis, Minn.) - 3rd at 2012 USA Half Marathon Championships
Adriana Pirtea Nelson (Fort Collins, Colo.)- 2nd place at the 2007 Chicago Marathon, 10th at the 2005 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships

Men’s and women’s team scoring at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships is based on the top-three finishers for each country. The country with the lowest aggregate score wins the team title.

Trotter, Taylor to be honored by DeKalb County
Dekalb County (Ga.) will host an “Olympic Tribute & Celebration” for 2012 Olympic medalists DeeDee Trotter and Angelo Taylor Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. in the East Court Square in Decatur, Ga. Attendance is free and the public is welcome to attend.
DeKalb County Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis along with the county’s Board of Commissioners will also be on hand to honor the Georgia natives.
Trotter, who graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 2001, won a bronze medal at the London Olympic Games in the 400-meters along with winning gold as a member of the women’s 4x400m. It was her second career Olympic gold medal after also running a leg on the 4x400m in 2004 when she was only 21 years old.
One of the top 400m hurdlers of his generation, Taylor ran the anchor leg on the men’s 4x400m that won a silver medal in London. The 1996 graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School, Taylor is a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the 400m hurdlers and a 2008 Olympic gold medalist in the 4x400m.
