Merritt picks up Diamond League win in Paris

2012 Olympic 110m hurdles gold medalist and world record holder Aries Merritt picked up his first Diamond League series win of the year Saturday as the Diamond League made its ninth stop of the season in Paris.

Merritt ran a season best time of 13.09 to claim the 110m hurdles to finish ahead of France’s Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, who placed second in 13.12, and David Oliver, who was third in 13.13.

Americans also picked up a trio of second place finishes in Paris that included Michelle Carter in the women’s shot put (19.57m/64-2.5), Brigetta Barrett in the women’s high jump (1.98m/6-6) and LaShawn Merritt, who ran a season-best time of 44.09 to place second in the men’s 400m.
