INDIANAPOLIS - Kathryn Martin
has been named USA Track & Field’s Athlete of the Week after winning her age-group title at the USA Masters 5km Championships.

Martin (Northport, N.Y.) ran 19:06 at the 2013 USA Masters 5 km Championship
, hosted by the Syracuse Festival of Races on Sunday. Martin’s time is a mere two seconds slower than the W60-64 5km world best she recorded in 2011, and it age-grades to 103.14% based on the current tables.
Now in its 12th year, USATF’s Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on www.usatf.org. Selections are based on top performances and results from the previous week.
