HENDERSON, Nevada -- In the longest distance event contested at a USATF championship event, eight competitors took to the 2.5 mile loop at the 2018 USATF 100 Mile Road National Championships on February 17 at the Jackpot Ultra Running Festival.
With a pace of 8:12 per mile, Jon Olson (Modesto, California), 43, crossed the line first in 13:39:32, nearly two hours ahead of the second-place finisher Jean Pommier (Cupertino, California). Pommier, 53, clocked 15:34:12, a 9:21 mile pace for second place.
Female champion Traci Falbo (Jeffersonville, Indiana), 46, ran the third best time of the day overall in 17:03:15, a 10:14 mile pace. Falbo finished more than nine hours ahead of the third-place male finisher, Jim Magill (Saratoga, California) and more than 10 hours faster than the second-place female finisher, Yen Nguyen (Houston, Texas).
