Hickman, Krsak's win special awards
During Saturday’s Jesse Owens Hall of Fame Banquet, Bill Hickman and Len and Karen Krsak were presented with special recognition from USATF President Stephanie Hightower. Hickman was given the Robert Giegengack Award which the Krsak family were honored with the Heliodoro and Patricia Rico Lifetime Achievement Award.

Serving USATF for nearly 40 years, Hickman is a certified masters level official and officiated at the 1984 Olympic Games. He was member of the IAAF Anti-Doping Commission from 1999 until 2003 and has been president of Pacific Northwest Track & Field and served as a member of the USATF Competition Committee and the Law and Legislation Committee.

Len and Karen Krsak have surrounded the sport of track and field for the past 25 years, splitting their time between USATF officials, the Ohio Association, Ohio high school track and field and the NCAA. Len currently serves as USATF Officials Committee Chair and Certification Chair. Karen is currently in her second term as the Ohio Association president and USATF Associations Committee Chair.

Awarded by the USATF Board of Directors, the Robert Giegengack Award was established in 1982 in recognition of the late Yale University coach to showcase superior and outstanding contributions to the sport and the organization as an official, coach and administrator.

Formerly known as USATF's Pacesetter Award, the Heliodoro and Patricia Rico Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledges people with the drive and vision to reach the highest plateau through their chosen area of involvement. The name change was instituted by USATF President Bill Roe and CEO Craig Masback in June, 2006.
