Fitzgerald-Mosley to move to USOC

6/19/2013

INDIANAPOLIS – USATF Chief of Sport Performance Benita Fitzgerald-Mosley will become the USOC’s Chief of Organizational Excellence effective August 1. Her last day at USATF will be July 26.

The 1984 Olympic gold medalist in the women’s 100-meter hurdles, Fitzgerald-Mosley came to USATF in July, 2009, after serving as CEO of Women in Cable Telecommunications. While at USATF, Fitzgerald-Mosley oversaw an expansion of the organization’s High Performance Department and its programs, including establishment of Sport Performance Workshops, the Tier system of athlete funding, and an increase in USOC funding for athlete-support programs and prize money.

The fruits of that labor will be on display when Team USA competes at the 2013 IAAF World Outdoor Track & Field Championships August 10-18 in Moscow, Russia.

“Benita instituted several new programs which have benefitted USATF athletes and the people who support them,” USATF CEO Max Siegel said. “We wish her the best in her new position and are glad to have another friend at the USOC.”
