Felix finalist for 2012 Sportswoman of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS – Three-time 2012 Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix has been named a finalist for The Women's Sports Foundation’s Sportswoman of the Year award.

14 finalists from individual and team sports have been named based on athletic performances between August 1, 2011, and August 12, 2012. Nominations for the Sportswoman of the Year Awards – Individual and Team – are made by sport governing bodies and the public.
Sportswoman of the Year finalists will be voted on by the Foundation Awards Committee and the public beginning on September 1, through midnight E.S.T. on September 9, 2012.

Sportswoman of the Year honorees will be announced during the 33rd Annual Salute to Women in Sports awards gala, as well as this year’s recipients of the Billie Jean King Contribution Award, Wilma Rudolph Courage Award and ANNIKA Inspiration Award.
