Day Four Morning Session Quotes - IAAF World Juniors

7/25/2014

Kendell Williams, 100m hurdles
“I’ve always been a last half of the race hurdler. I think a lot of times it works to my advantage because a lot of people start quickly, but then I guess they get tired throughout the race, but that’s when I get faster so I think it worked to my advantage. If I can just get the beginning part together, that will be like the perfect match.”

Dior Hall, 100m hurdles
“I executed well. It was a controlled race, and I think I posted a good time. In the semifinal, I need to just run faster, nap my lead leg harder, and just execute. I had a long season, but my body is still responding pretty good. I’m looking forward to wrapping up my season after the Worlds.”

Ryan Njegovan, Men’s Discus
“I woke up and felt good, getting moving out there and feeling alright. Once I got in the ring, I knew I was feeling a little tired. I could have woken up a lot more, but it’s definitely something to prepare for tomorrow at the finals. It felt alright. I was having some grip issues as I was throwing. On the last throw I got it together, and it was kind of hit or miss.”

On stacking up to the field
“Seeing them compete, makes you realize you really are not that much different. Their technique is right on with yours and training is right on point. If you can get a mark up there, you are really on an even level.”

Anthony Peters, 10,000m Race Walk
“It was just an awesome experience. Just seeing all these different countries - it was amazing, knowing I could be at this level and competing with other countries is just always amazing.”
