INDIANAPOLIS — ChronoTrack will provide top-of-the line innovation as the official Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and live services provider for the 2013 .US National Road Racing Championships
in Alexandria, Va., USA Track & Field announced today.
ChronoTrack, an industry-trusted provider of race solutions for the endurance industry, will deliver online, mobile and social race experiences for athletes and spectators for the .US National Road Racing Championships.
From bib timing tags to real-time results to tracking on social media, the partnership provides unprecedented services for participants in an USATF event. Most notably, runners will be able to sign up to share their progress with friends and family in real-time through Facebook, Twitter and text message updates.
Spectators can follow athletes during the race using mobile results and athletes can scan QR codes located on their bibs to get their personal results with splits, pace and finish time. At the end of competition, competitors will receive an email with results and a short finish-line video clip to commemorate their run in this inaugural event.
“We are very pleased that our partnership with ChronoTrack will provide an enhanced experience for participants, their friends and families,” USATF CEO Max Siegel said. “Whether you are running a 5-minute pace or 12-minute pace, everyone will get the same world-class service, social media engagement and video clips.”
“We are excited to be involved in this inaugural event and be part of delivering a great experience to the athletes,” said Patrick Grogan, VP of Marketing for ChronoTrack. “It provides a national platform to showcase how technology can enhance the race experience for runners and fans.”
