Chapus named to USATF Foundation Board of Directors
6/1/2012
INDIANAPOLIS – Victoria Chapus, former track & field athlete for UCLA, has been named as a Director of the USA Track & Field Foundation Board, USATF Foundation Executive Director Tom Jackovic and Chairman Bob Greifeld announced today.
“I am excited to be a part of the USATF Foundation’s dynamic Board of Directors,” said Chapus. “I hope that I can help them in their mission to provide support for track and field programs.”
Victoria is currently a Trustee at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles, CA, having previously been an elementary school teacher.
Chapus grew up running age-group track in Southern California. She was a 3-time CIF State 3200m Champion, 2-time Junior Pan-American 3000m Champion (1980, 1982) and held age-group records competing as Vickie Cook.
Victoria lives in the Pacific Palisades, Calif. with her 6 children and husband, Jean-Marc Chapus. Her oldest daughter, Cami Chaups, was a member of Team USA at the 2011 IAAF World Youth Championships.
The USATF Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging elite athletes, distance training centers and anti-doping education. The Foundation depends upon donations from its Board of Directors and from generous fans of track & field.
