Q. Where will the meet be held?

A. At Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex, adjacent to FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins, in Landover, MD. The facility is commonly referred to as the Sportsplex.

Q. Who can enter the meet?

A. Athletes must be 30 years or older on March 16, 2018.

Q. Does the meet have qualifying standards?

A. No, the meet has no qualifying standards. Any USATF member 30+ as of March 16, 2018 can participate.

Q. Is food available at the Sportsplex?

A. Yes, a small cafe is onsite, plus numerous vending machines

Q. Are showers and lockers available at the Sportsplex?

A. Showers and lockers are available, but only on Sunday, the last day of the meet. Bring a towel and four quarters if you want to use a locker.

Q. What's the track surface?

A. 200-meter Mondo Super X synthetic surface. Track is not banked.

Q. Will the meet provide starting blocks?

A. Yes; you may use only meet-supplied starting blocks.

Q. What kind of spikes can I wear?

A. Maximum ¼-inch pyramid spikes only. We perform a spike check before you can compete.

Q. Will throwing implements be provided?

A. Yes, we will provide at least two implements for each age group in each event.

Q. May I bring and use my own throwing implement(s)?

A. Yes, you may bring and use your own implement(s), but they must be weighed and inspected prior to the competition and will be impounded until your event(s). More information about implement inspection is available in the Athletes Info section of the meet website.

Q. Will there be poles available for athletes who do not bring their own to use at the meet?

Q. If I ship my pole vault, where shall I send it?

For the return shipment, UPS pickups must be arranged with Larry Colbert (301-583-2662) to make arrangements at the Sportsplex to direct UPS to the proper pickup location at the facility.

Q. Are the throwing circles wood or concrete?

A. Wood. "It's a little slippery," said one user.

Q. Which Metro stations are closest to the track?

A. Morgan Boulevard Metro Station (Blue Line) is 2.2 miles from the Sportsplex.
   
Landover Station (Orange Line) is about 3.1 miles from the Sportsplex. Taxicabs surround Metro stations.

Q. Will meet hotels have shuttles to the Sportsplex?
A. We are arranging shuttles from all meet hotels on a regular basis all day on competition days. The schedule will be posted when the final meet schedule is determined.
Q. If I'm driving, how do I get there?

A. From I-495 (Capital Beltway), turn west on MD 202 (Landover Road). Turn left on Brightseat Road. From US 50, turn east on MD 202 and right on Brightseat Road. Pass Sheriff Road and turn right into Lot D. From Lot D to the Sportsplex is a short walk (about 200 meters). Parking is free. From Washington DC, take East Capitol Street or Pennsylvania Avenue eastbound across Anacostia River to Minnesota Avenue northbound. After passing through a commercial district, Minnesota Avenue turns right (eastbound) and becomes Sheriff Road. Continue on Sheriff Road 4 miles to Harvey Street. Turn right up the hill to free parking.

Q. What if Lot D is full?

A. If Lot D is full, we will direct you to another nearby lot, depending on what else is going on at the Sportsplex.

Q. When will the final schedule be posted?

A. The full schedule, including heat times for running events and flight times for field events, will be posted approximately one week after the late entry deadline.  The earliest will be March 2, 2018, two weeks prior to the first day of the meet.

Q. What is the process for entering a relay team?

A. Relay teams may only enter on-site, however, each member of a relay team must also be entered in the meet as an individual. The normal entry process applies to each team member, including the deadlines. All relay teams must sign up in the packet pick-up area by 10 AM on Saturday, March 17, for relays on Saturday; or by 3 PM on Saturday, March 17, for relays on Sunday. Relay entry forms are color-coded for Male / Female and for 4x200m / 4x400m / 4x800m. Additional specific entry procedures and location will be communicated prior to the meet and on-site in the meet program.

Q. The fee for a relay is listed as $40. Is that fee per person or per team?

A. Per team, but as noted each member of the team must already be entered in the meet as well.

Q. What events are in the indoor pentathlon?

A. For women - 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800m run; for men – 60m hurdles, long jump, shot put, high jump, 1000m run.

Q. How do I send proof of age?

A. If after you complete your entry, the status of entry page indicates “dob docs needed,” then please fax or e-mail a copy of your birth certificate or the information page of your passport, with your membership number written on it, to the USATF National Office at 800-833-1466 or membership@usatf.org.

Q. When is the athletes’ meeting?

A. The athletes’ meeting, conducted by the USATF Masters Track & Field Committee, is Saturday, March 17, at 7:30 PM at Greenbelt Marriott, the meet Headquarters hotel. Light refreshments will be served.

Q. Can I add an event or change my time or mark for an event?

A. Yes, you may do so until the late entry deadline on February 22, 2018. After that date no changes may be made.
    You can, however, verify your entry, by event, on the Status of Entries page.

Q. Once I'm at the meet, how do I declare for an event?

A. At least one hour before each of your track events sign in on the declaration sheet for that event. For field events you must report to the event venue 20 minutes prior to the start time for your event.
  For track events, we post declaration sheets at the clerking area.
  For field events, we post declaration sheets at the field event venue.
