Athletes

  • Age: Female athletes must be 14 years or older on the day of competition. Male athletes must be 16 years or older on the day of competition.

  • Club Affiliation: Athletes must be bona fide members of a 2016 USATF club in order to score in this championship.  Unattached athletes are permitted to compete in this Championship but will be placed in heats and finals at the discretion of the Games Committee.  For example, unattached athletes will be placed in the 2nd heat of two-heat final in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 100-110 hurdles.

  • All athletes entering as part of a club must be affiliated with that club as part of their USATF membership (an athlete's current affiliation can be viewed in his/her membership profile and as part of the online entry process). Athletes wishing to change club affiliations can make such a request through their local Association (note that this request must be made by the athlete--see Regulation 4 in the USATF Governance Manual).  Athletes not currently affiliated with a club are encouraged to join a local club or create a new club. Contact your local Association or visit the Clubs section for information on starting your own club.

  • USATF Membership:  All athletes must be 2016 members of USATF in good standing.  USATF memberships may be purchased online, or through your local Association Office.

  • Citizenship:  Non-U.S. citizens are permitted to score for their club in this Championship if they have a valid U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) number ("green card').  Other non-US citizens are permitted to compete in this Championship but these athletes cannot score for their club in an individual or relay event and will be placed in heats and finals at the discretion of the Games Committee.

  • Athletes will not be permitted to score for their club unless they:

  1. Have a 2016 USATF membership;

  2. Are affiliated with a USATF member club as part of their membership profile;

  3. Are US citizens or green card holders; and

  4. Completed the entry process.
