Important Event Information Details

Club Council Meeting:  Coaches are invited to a meeting of the Club Council tomorrow at 11:30am.  The meeting will be held at Icahn Stadium (on the 1st floor under the stands – you will need to go to the main concourse and take the elevator down one floor.  The meeting room is located across the hall from the elevator).  This is not a technical meeting; rather a meeting of the Club Council to discuss various Club related topics.
Packet Pickup:  Packet pickup will begin at 11:30am on Friday on the Concourse at Icahn Stadium
Stadium Hours:  The stadium will open at 11:30am on Friday and 8:30am on Saturday.
Bus Shuttle Service to Icahn Stadium:   In general, the shuttle will leave the LaGuardia Plaza Hotel "on the hour" and leave Icahn Stadium "on the half hour".  Detailed information on the shuttle is attached.  
Travel to Icahn Stadium:  Please allow extra time for travel especially on Friday because of NYC traffic You are responsible for arriving in time to compete at the scheduled time.   As noted below, you MUST check-in no later than 60 minutes before the scheduled start time of your event.  
Event T-Shirts:  All athletes will receive a complimentary Nike-NYRR Dri-Fit Club TF Championships t-shirt on the Concourse near packet pick up.  
Implements & Implement Inspection (Weights and Measure)
Throwing implements will be available for use by athletes.  Athletes may provide their own throwing implements.  All throwing implements must be brought to the Implement Inspection station located near the clerk/check-in tent on the soccer fields at the northeast end of the stadium no later than 60 minutes before the scheduled start time of the event

  • Each implement must pass implement inspection. All implements will be impounded after inspection. Implements not passing inspection will be impounded and returned after the completion of competition.

  • Personal implements that are accepted for use in the competition lose identity as privately owned implements for the duration of the competition and may be used by any competitor.

Only spike permitted on at Icahn Stadium are ¼ inch pyramid  spikes.  No athlete will be able to compete at Icahn with incorrect spikes.  The meet vendor, Urban Athletics, will have  ¼ inch pyramid spikes on sale at the meet.  The vendor is located on the Concourse next to the packet pick up
Check-In /Clerking
Note: Athletes who have not checked in by the times indicated below will be scratched from the event; no exceptions!

Check-in for all events will be at the Clerk of the Course station (located under the stadium near the start of the 100 meters) per the following schedule:

  • Running Events: Athletes must check-in not less than 60 minutes prior to start of the event.  30 minutes prior to the start of each event athletes will be hipped and escorted to the event start.

  • Field Events: Athletes must check-in not less than 60 minutes prior to start of the event. 

“Honest Effort” rule
Per USATF competition rule 142.3 any athlete declared to compete must honestly participate in each round of each track event for which the athlete is declared or the athlete will be barred from further competition in the meet.  This rule shall not apply to events only a final is held.
Bib & Hip Numbers
Bib numbers will be used for this competition.  Bib numbers must be pinned to the front of the athlete's jersey.   An athlete will not be able to check-in with the Clerk of the Course without a bib number.  Hip numbers will be assigned during the check-in process.
Relay Seeding 
If there are more than 8 teams entered in a relay that starts in lanes (4x100m, 4x400m , etc.) the top-8 scoring clubs going into the "relay portion" of the meet will be afforded seeding priority.
Relay Declarations
Relay declaration sheets will be provided to each club in the club packet.  Finalized relay declarations must be submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The cards must be turned in to the clerking tent.  Only athletes on the relay roster or those already entered in the meet will be permitted to run on the relay.
Protests must be filed in writing within 30 minutes of the results being announced and must be accompanied by a $50 cash deposit, refundable only if the protest is upheld.  Protests should be filed at the clerking table.
Team Scoring
Individual and relay events will be scored 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. Men's scores, women's scores, and a combined team score will be computed.
Note for Relays: Clubs may enter multiple (A, B, C, D, etc.) relay teams in each relay, but only the A team will be eligible to score team points, provided they meet the following minimum relay scoring standards:

Opening Heights for High Jump and Pole Vault 
Opening heights for these events will be decided tonight at the Games Committee meeting.
