2013 USA Masters 8 km Championship

In person registration will be available at the expo located in the Woodlands Conference Center on Friday, May 31, 12-8 p.m., $70.
The Run for the Dream Weekend includes a half marathon, an open 8K run/walk and Kids Fun Run. Choose to take on the Patriots Challenge and earn a third medal (and bragging rights) by running in both the 8K on Saturday, June 1 and the half marathon on Sunday, June 2. Start time for the 8K is 8 a.m.
Bring your friends or family and stay for the weekend! The first 3,000 registrants receive a free $70 ticket and $15 food voucher for Busch Gardens and a $40 pass to Colonial Williamsburg. Discounted room rates are available at Colonial Williamsburg hotels.
The 2013 Run for the Dream 8k in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia once again hosted the USA Masters 8 km Championships on Saturday, June 1st. The 8am start was a bit warm and humid (75 degrees, 83% humidity) but a breeze off the James River helped all runners negotiate the scenic course quickly and safely. Temperatures would rise into the 80's as the race progressed slowing some of the later finishers. The beautiful course winds through the streets of Williamsburg with a substantial portion traversing the Colonial Williamsburg historic area and finishes on the track in Zable Stadium on the scenic campus of the College of William & Mary.
The overall Race Champion was Tracy Lokken, M47 from Marquette, MI in 25:28, who also took home first place in the Men's age grading with 92.98%.M55-59 champ Brian Pilcher, M56 of Ross, CA was the only other male to top 90% as his 27:42, 7th place overall finish graded out at 91.99%.
Five Women topped the 90% age grade barrier led by the indomitable Sabra Harvey, F64, from Houston, TX, whose 34:15 was good for a spectacular 96.31%. Kathy Martin (F61, 33:23, Northport, NY) at 94.60%, Christine Kennedy(F58, 32:10, Los Gatos, CA) at 94.14%, Edie Stevenson, F63, 35:12, Boulder, CO) at 92.33% and Nancy Stewart (F57, 32:52, Atlanta, GA) at 90.90% paced the tremendous 50 and 60 year-old portion of the women's field. Nancy Meck, F41, Atlanta, GA was the overall Women's Champion at 30:24.
