2012 Great City North Games

On September 15, Team USA will defend its team title against Great Britain/Northern Ireland at the Great North CityGames in Newcastle Gateshead, England.

This event team-based event in Gateshead will be held on city streets, on a specially built 150m straight Mondo sprint track. There also will be a long jump arena and pole vault competition area in addition to road mile and two-mile laps. 

A total of nine events will be contested, with a simple team-scoring system and prize money in every event: Men’s 100m, 150m, 110H, LJ and 2-mile road race; Women’s  150m, 100H, 1-mile road race and pole vault.
