An up-and-comer in American race walking, Antonia got a taste of international competition with her eighth-place finish at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo DomingoAntonia should be a strong contender to make Team USA for the 2004 Olympics after her third-place finish at the 2004 USA Indoor champsa two-time NCAA Division II cross country All-American, Antonia tried race walking in February of 2000 after sustaining a stress fractureshe decided that race walking was her true calling, and became a three-time NAIA 3 km indoor championgraduated from the University Wisconsin-Parkside as a biology major and chemistry minor in May of 2003, and looks forward to training full time. I never dreamed Id compete at USA Nationals or at the World Cupnow my goal is to make the 2004 Olympics Team and make the A qualifying standardthis is all such a wonderful blessing that I never expected.
