Polk captured her first national title at the 2014 USA Indoors with a leap of 6.70m /21-11.75. At the USA Outdoor championships in 2013 Pol earned a silver medal with a personal best leap of 6.80m/22-3.75. Polk has improved consistently since graduating from Texas Tech University in 2007. The two longest jumps of her career prior to 2013 came in 2011, when she jumped 6.69m/21-11.5 and 6.75m/22-1.75 at the Georgia Association Championships and the Clermont Star Athletics Invite, respectively. In high school, Polk was a three-time state qualifier in the long jump and two-time state runner-up in the long jump. She is the daughter of Carl and Dianna Polk and has three older sisters, Kinet, LaToishia and Kaneshia and two older brothers Adrian and Carl Jr. Some of her hobbies include listening to music and meeting new people. In her time at Texas Tech, she majored in accounting.
