About Billy
Nelson enters the 2012 season as the top ranked steeplechaser in the country according to Track & Field News. He will look for his second straight trip to the Olympic Games. Part of a string of strong line of Buffalo steeplechasers, Nelson graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in history. He was a standout distance runner at Taft Union high school in California where he set school records in the 3,200m (8:54), mile (4:15) and 3,000m (9:35). As a senior, he won the Division IV California state championship.
