About Shalonda
Solomon had her best year yet as a professional in 2011 where she set PR’s in the 60m and 200m and claimed her first USA Outdoor title. While competing at the University of South Carolina, Solomon was a two-time NCAA champion in the 200m and represented Team USA at the 2006 NACAC U-23 Championships, where she won gold in the 200m and 4x100m. Solomon battled with Allyson Felix at the California State meet in high school. She was twice named the Gatorade National High School Female Athlete of the Year (2003 and 2004). Solomon took second to Felix both her freshman and sophomore years in the 100m. Solomon signed with Reebok in 2007 and chose to forego her senior year of eligibility. Studied nursing at the University of South Carolina. Listens to gospel music before her races.
