About Michael
Michael Berry has emerged as one of the top young long sprinters in the country over the past two years. He recorded the third-fastest time in the nation in 2012 (44.75), which came after turning heads at the 2011 World Outdoor Championships with his 4x400m semi-final split of 43.83. Berry grew up in Seattle, Wash., where he attended Rainier Beach High School and had an illustrious track career. Over the course of his junior and senior seasons, he collected three Washington state titles and went undefeated in the 200m and 400m his senior year. In his freshman year at the University of Oregon, he quickly broke one of the oldest records in Oregon’s book: At the 2011 Pac-10 Championship, he ran 44.91 in the 400 to take over a record of 45.07 that was set in 1960 by two-time Olympic gold medalist Otis Davis.
