In 2006, Hasslen got her first taste of the podium as she finished as the runner-up in the Junior Olympic shot put competition. Fast forward seven years later, Hasslen became one of the top collegiate throwers in the nation and earned a spot on Team USA at the World Championships in Moscow. Hasslen is a graduate of Arizona with a double major in family studies and human development and retail and consumer sciences.
