About Alysia
Montano made her first outdoor world team by winning her third U.S. title in 2011 and almost won a medal in Daegu, placing fourth. The 2010 season saw the re-emergence of Montano as she ran sub-2:00 in seven of nine outdoor races, topped off by a personal best 1:57.34 on July 18 in Lignano, Italy. Montano won the 2007 NCAA Outdoor crown in a school-record 1:59.29 in Sacramento. That time was also the second fastest in NCAA meet history, second fastest in Pac-10 history and third fastest overall in collegiate history. The 800m title was her second national championship of the year, as she won the NCAA indoor 800 in an indoor school-record 2:03.47 in March. Formerly Alysia Johnson, married her childhood friend Louis Montano on March 19, 2011. She’s known for running with a flower in her hair.
