Grass Roots
IT STARTS HERE! (Motto of Grass Roots Programs). An intern will learn how our 57 Associations, 15 Regions, 90,000 plus members, and country-wide youth committee volunteers join forces to make track and field the #1 junior high school and high school participatory sport. An Intern in the Grass Roots department is responsible for the following:

Assist in the administration of youth championship events, including the USA Youth Outdoors, Junior Olympic Championships, and any related local or regional competitions

Research and analyze grant opportunities to benefit USATF youth programs

Produce statistical reports for the Junior Olympic (including Indoor Zonal meets) strategic planning process

Provide customer service to USATF club and individual members

Assist in preparation for USATF Association Workshop, taking place late summer

Participate in early-stage planning of USATF Annual Meeting

Enter membership and USATF Annual Meeting data
Requirements for the position include:

Computer skills, especially MS Excel and Word; Access would be beneficial

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (to help package medals, ribbons, and other boxes)

Interest in sports preferred (team manager, athlete, or volunteer)

Energetic, detail-oriented, self-starter, with strong organizational skills
Note: All interns with USA Track & Field are eligible to receive a stipend. School credit and parking assistance can also be arranged.
