Internet Publishing Coordinator

USA Track & Field, the National Governing Body for track & field, long distance running, and race walking is seeking a candidate with strong communication and organization skills to work in our website and operations department.  We are a non-profit Olympic Sports organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The candidate should be hardworking, energetic, detail-oriented and personable who demonstrates an understanding of the Olympic Sport movement, specifically track & field.  The candidate will work directly under the supervision of the Webmaster and be a critical member of a team devoted to keeping the USATF website updated and relevant.

Expectations include:

  • Work with each USATF department/program to add new content and update all areas of the website.
  • Create and coordinate pre- and post-event coverage for National Championships and Team USA events, including posting of event information, photo galleries, video clips, and results.
  • Add new relevant pages and content for event registration for championships, associations, and coaching education classes and clinics.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the USATF Network of Association websites and provide support to webmasters.
  • Set-up and maintain online registration for Coaching Education, Team USA and National Championship events. 
  • Migrate all content into the newly installed Content Management System and identify and eradicate inconsistencies with current crossover of content.
  • Develop and implement ways to tie-in new applications to the website.
  • Coordinate with volunteer segments of the organization, as well as the public, on website related issues, including content management and relevant updates.
  • Ensure that all content complies with relevant policies, guidelines, and best practices.

Qualifications and preferences for these positions include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Journalism, IT preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience working on a professional website or in a related environment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity and experience with Web editing software, including the ability to hand-code basic HTML.
  • Experience with Kentico or other Content Management System preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly to new tools.
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and with Photoshop or other graphics software.
  • Strong team player and ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work error free.
  • Occasional nights and weekends, some travel and long hours of continuous concentration required.
