Jared Slinde arrived at USA Track & Field in June of 2011 and currently works as communications manager in the national office. Slinde handles all digital and print publications, media operations and relations, works in maintaining athlete biographies and administerting press releases along with working annually to assemble the National Track & Field Hall of Fame classes.
Prior to arriving at USATF, Slinde worked at a sports writer for The Minot Daily News (Minot, N.D.), held a graduate assistantship in sports information with North Dakota State University and worked as communications coordinator with Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Minn. He also worked as a communications intern for USATF in the summer of 2007.
Slinde earned a bachelor’s degree from NDSU in communications in 2005 with a minor in English and earned a master’s degree in sport and recreation management from the same school in 2007.
Slinde lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Mandy, and the couple expect their first child in May. An Eagle Scout, he enjoys following professional and collegiate sports in his spare time and each year looks forward to the college football season.
