Dana Leenheer joined USA Track & Field as its youth programs coordinator in January of 2012. In her current role, she works with the preparation, planning and execution of USATF’s junior Olympic and youth national championships. She also coordinates the youth-related web content for the department.
Leenheer arrived at USATF following a stint with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) as a temporary employee throughout 2011 where she worked in the areas of coaching education, performance services, sports performance and operations surrounding the Olympic Training Center. She also held internships with the USOC within venue operations at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., and with U.S. Figure Skating in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Leenheer received a bachelor’s degree in sport management from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2009 where she was a member of the track and field team as a freshman and a member of the rowing team for the remainder of her time there.
Leenheer lives in Indianapolis and enjoys watching movies and training with CrossFit in her spare time.
