Lloyd Crowe
Lloyd Crowe began working at USATF January 15, 2016, as Chief Security Officer. He will oversee security planning and execution for all USATF domestic and international team events, as well as overall security strategy and planning for the organization. 
Crowe retired as the Assistant Chief of Police for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, with 30 years of progressive experience in law enforcement. A native of Indianapolis, Crowe served in the United States Marine Corps, and in 1985 began his career as a police officer which quickly took him down many avenues that led to a successful career. During his career he served in many capacities. Crowe was a member of Mayor, William H. Hudnut’s Security Detail, an Instructor at the Police Training Academy, a member of the Department’s Dive Team, and spent time in Internal Affairs conducting internal investigations.  
By December of 2006, Crowe was promoted to Captain, the highest possible merit rank within the Department. He also held several appointed positions within the department: In 2005 Crowe became the Commander over Media Relations and Public Affairs Bureau, responsible for disseminating vital information to the public regarding high profile crime events.  In March of 2008, Crowe severed as Commander of the Juvenile Investigations and Missing Persons division until 2009 when he was selected by Chief of Police Michael Spears, to become the Southwest District Commander, overseeing approximately 200 officers addressing major crime issues within the Southwest district of Marion County.  In October of 2010 he was appointed the first ever Deputy Chief of the IMPD Training Division where he was responsible for leading the effort to overhaul the Recruit Training curriculum, which included revamping and implementing various tactical, ethical and culturally diverse training curriculums vital to the process improvement of policing the diverse community of Indianapolis.
In January 2014 Crowe was appointed as the Assistant Chief of Police over Administration by then Chief of Police Rick Hite.  In that capacity, he worked alongside a team of law enforcement executives to increase efficiencies, systems and processes inside the Police Department. That included significant improvements to the functionality and conditions of the Police Department’s property room, which had been mired in public scandal after the mishandling of evidence in a high profile criminal case. Crowe chaired the committee that put the department on a course for accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies. Crowe and the executive team also created policies that tightened up the guidelines on the use of alcohol as well as establishing stricter standards for law enforcement use of force.
Crowe holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. During the course of his career he attained various professional achievements, which include attending the prestigious FBI National Academy for Senior Level Law Enforcement Executives in Quantico, Virginia, and the Senior Management Institute for Police in Boston, Massachusetts.
Crowe currently lives in Indianapolis and enjoys traveling, fitness and touring the country by motorcycle with his friends.
